Interesting idea. I think I’d be inclined to stick with a straight-text thank you. Whenever I see an opportunity to click on a video, I usually avoid it because it will be time-consuming, even if the video is very short.
I could maybe see a video thank-you if it’s a technical position and you want to show your skills. At this point, however, I think there are just too many chances that the video idea could backfire (some employers may not even be able to play the video). Now, if you’re asking if you should always send SOME KIND OF THANK YOU, the answer is absolutely.
