The following are actual quotes from student cards, letters, and emails. It's gratifying
to know the impact a teacher can make in the lives of students!
Ben writes: A little note of thanks for everything you've been and done for me so willingly and
on such short notice. I can't thank you enough for all the help and support,
insight, and education.
Nikki writes: I can not even begin to tell you how thankful I am to know you. You have been such a
huge source of strength in my life. I never expected to come to college and meet a
professor that I would consider a friend forever. Thank you for being that
professor. I will never be able to show you how much I appreciate all your help. Thank you!
Rebecca writes: It's hard to believe I have been at Stetson for 4 years. It was not until my junior year
that we met. You are someone I truly look up to, you have taught me many values, lessons,
and of course a great deal about marketing. You are always eager to lend a hand or
bend an ear. After taking your 315 class, I knew I wanted to pursue a marketing career.
I consider you to be not only a great professor and mentor, but most importantly, my
friend. I know that after I graduate I can still call you up for advice and I know you would
help me.
Alison writes: Just wanted to say thanks for your help with my resume and cover letter. You're the GREATEST!
I'm so glad that I had a chance to take another class with you this semester! I'll keep you
updated on the job search...
Joanne writes: I wanted to personally thank you for everything that you
have done for me! You wrote an excellent recommendation and gave me helpful tips for my
interview. I strongly feel that there needs to be more professors like you at
Stetson University. I have thoroughly enjoyed every class I have taken with you.
Thanks for being you.
Maria writes: You are an amazing professor with many accomplishments! I highly respect you and your
teaching abilities. Therefore, I would like to thank you for your guidance and
encouragement throughout my final semester here at Stetson University. Your uplifting attitude
will always be remembered.
Kelli writes: Just a quick (yet long) note to thank you for everything over the last couple of years. You've
been very supportive and helpful to me during my "career" at S.U. and I want you to know that
I really appreciate all of the guidance, insight, and understanding you've given to me. I
have always enjoyed your classes in particular because they were ALL challenging which made them
fun in some sort of warped way! I have always done better in classes that demanded more from me
and that had teachers who, it seemed, I could never please. You are one of those teachers.
I have VERY few favorite teachers, especially those who I will remember for the rest of my
life. My experience in high school gave me two teachers who were like my second parents. Not
only were they excellent teachers but they were and still are wonderful friends. In college,
you are the only one that gave me a "challenging experience." Of course, I had difficult
classes and with very good teachers. But, your classes were the only ones that really
made me THINK and made me want to do better each time an assignment was due.
So, thank you for your dedication to teaching and to your students -- it shows in everything you
do. (You see, I am allowed to tell you this now because I graduate this summer and I won't have
any other classes with you!!).
Amy writes: I don't think that words can cover what I want to say. I know that my evaluation certainly
didn't cover it. You are a wonderful teacher -- the perfect definition of why I chose Stetson.
You were always involved and aware of the students. You kept marketing fun and interesting. It was
a great class and I can't wait to take more classes with you in the future!!!
Kristi writes: You have been most helpful. I was able to focus my energies on finding a job, and moreover
exploring exactly what I want to do and what kind of company I would like to work for. I
don't think you realize how much it has helped me to be able to just ask you questions
about companies, careers, and interviewing. It really kept me on track this semester. I
don't think that I would have taken the same approach to job searching if you weren't
there to help me. And it was great to be able to come to your office and be able to
vent about anything. I know that as of right now I don't have a job. But without your
guidance I really think that I never would have had as many interviews as I have and
possibly may have sold myself short and taken a job I really didn't want.
Anyone can get a job, but it the drive to excel and the confidence to be successful
within a company that Stetson has given me. So in conclusion, thank you Dr. Hansen
for being a great teacher, an understanding friend, and an inspirational mentor.
Jessica writes: Thank you so much for your letter and for allowing me and my father to sit
in on your marketing class a couple of weeks ago. The experience was
incredible and I just finished the personal essay for my Stetson
application. I decided that it would be a wonderful school to attend and
just right for me. Now, all I can do is send it in and keep my fingers
crossed. I really appreciate your assistance and will keep you posted as to
where I stand in acceptance.
Melissa writes: Hey! Thanks for the warm fuzzies about being in your class! :-) I have to
say that it was the best class I've taken here thus far (and I have a feeling
that you will go down undefeated....). In return, it's nice to have a prof
that's down to earth and knows his "stuff" and doesn't feel the need to use
filler to keep students' attentions when the lesson is complete.
I will make sure to check my box for my resume, and I'll make sure to come by
and look at your resume books. I need to drop off my graduate application, so
I will be back in Lynn either Monday or Tuesday. I appreciate that you and
your wife took the time to review it for me!
Nicole writes: Hi there, how are you? I really enjoyed your class, you made it very interesting. I still
tell people about the class meeting after the Super Bowl, when we watched
the commercials and discussed them. You helped me realize what an integral
part of business marketing really is. I have been helping my company with
recruiting and interviewing of job candidates, which is of course a form of
marketing. More than once while talking to a prospective co-worker, I have
thought about the marketing concepts that you discussed in class. I want to
thank you so much for making marketing such an interesting and fun subject.
When current Stetson students ask me who to take for marketing, I always
suggest you. If there is anything that I can do to help you or your students out,
please let me know.
Marta writes: I just wanted to thank you, for the wonderful tour of your website. It was
truly a blessing to read and navigate your site. If only all teachers were
such great motivators we would not have so many students dropping out of
college. You actually got me inspired to complete my degree. Thanks Keep up
the great work that you do! Excellent Mission Statement!!!
Melissa writes: You have bee far more than just a professor to me these past three years. You
have been my adviser, my mentor, and my friend. The guidance and advice that you
were always willing to give about job interview and "the real world" have been
much appreciated, and really did help. As ready as I am to start my new
life, there a few things about Stetson that I'll miss. You are one of them.
Thanks for everything.
Misty writes: Thank you so much for all you have done for me! You are a wonderful teacher.
You always make time for your students and truly care about their future. Your class
is the only class that I look forward to, even at 8 a.m.!! Good luck ion everything
you do. I'll miss having you as my teacher.
Jennifer writes: Thank you for your support and encouragement. Most of all, thanks for never giving
up on me! I'll always remember how good you have been to me.
Stephanie writes: Thanks for being so great during my four years at Stetson. You have been such
a helpful advisor and great professor. You have enhanced my learning and made such a
great contribution to my education at Stetson! I will always remember you, your
helpful ways, and caring personality!
